Fremont Vintage Mall

Rebranding

Problem to Solve

Fremont Vintage Mall, while beloved by locals, lacked a cohesive and modern brand identity. The existing branding did not reflect the funky, eclectic spirit of the store or effectively communicate the curated nature of its offerings. The challenge was to reposition Fremont Vintage Mall as a destination for unconventional shoppers, without losing the nostalgic charm that long-time customers appreciate.

Overview

The new identity celebrates individuality and the thrill of treasure hunting, using bold patterns, playful typography, and a vibrant yet vintage-inspired color palette. The visual system is designed to reflect the store’s funky personality, its unique location, and curated experience—something that sets Fremont Vintage Mall apart from typical vintage retailers.

As part of the rebrand, I designed a system of colors, patterns and visual elements that create cohesive branding across different touchpoints.

Solution

To reposition Fremont Vintage Mall as a destination for treasure hunters, sustainable shoppers, I developed a bold and playful visual identity rooted in both nostalgia and modernity. The solution integrates a warm, retro-inspired color palette of dusty blues, vintage creams, and pops of burnt orange to strike a balance between timeless charm and contemporary appeal.

I created a dynamic logo system that reflects the brand’s funky, whimsical energy through soft curves and custom letterforms, paired with a sparkling icon that reflects its location at the center of the Universe. The color application guidelines ensure high visibility and consistency across various backgrounds and touchpoints, helping maintain a strong brand presence.
